on parenting: I chose to match my small child's tone when he cried. It opened his awareness to my awareness. This recognition created a bond and unity rather than a dominant fixer/child relationship. He is 30 now and has yet to watch The Ultimate History Lesson with John Taylor Gatto. I wonder how he would respond if I'd cry about that.
